TheTiles
The following are just a few of the possible ways tiles can be dressed.
In general, there are four types of tiles. The Living Tiles are
intended not only to provide the most long term living space, but most
of the food and fiber, as well as wood, medicinals, beer, wine, and so
on. The living tiles could be nearly self-sufficient, and serve
essentially as the heart of the village. When tiles are assembled as
hexes, you will generally find three Living Tiles plus one each of a
Market Tile, a Wilderness or Water Tile, and an Access/Recreation Tile.
This is best shown in the Starfield Valley Design.
Also included are the Pasture/Prairie Tile and the Arena Tile used in
the Horse Hex (Reserve Hex) of the Starfield Valley design. Please note
that the image of the Starfield Valley design used Wilderness Tiles
rather than Pasture/Arena tiles because I hadn't designed the latter at
the time I assembled the design.
It should be noted that the original scale for the tile designs was 1"
equals 100' with the tiles printed on 8 1/2 by 11 inch paper. The Hexes
used to assemble the Village of Tomorrow designs were done at 1" equals
200'. The original Starfield Valley design was assembled on a piece of
foamcore 24" by 36". The Vista de la Luna design proved too big for
foamcore or matte board and had to be mounted on my dining room wall.
It has since been moved to my bedroom so it's the first thing I see in
the morning.
In the meantime, enjoy your walk-through.
