The Village of Tomorrow Designs

I've been working for the last ten years, off and on, to develop ecologically friendly, economically healthy, structurally integrated village designs. So far I've come up with three basic designs, but the tiles (triangular sections) and petals can actually be put together in any combination, much like tinker toys. The Village Components are my solution to the problem of how to design places in space or on any planetary body (including Earth, of course) that are both relatively easy to build and maintain, yet capable of being dressed in a virtually infinite number of ways so that the residents will never get tired of living there.

These designs were done in Visio 3.0, so are two dimensional only with occasional elevations. However, I recently got Turbo Floorplan, and am in the process of learning how to use it to develop three dimensional renderings. I'm planning to add assorted renderings of these designs as I complete them.

For those who'd like to get an idea of what it might be like to live in Starfield Valley, check out the Starfield Valley Tales in Phoenix Rising Presents. Likewise, the World Ark is the background for The Ark Society Novels, also available through Phoenix Rising Presents. Haven't written any tales about the Vista de la Luna design--yet. That design was an experiment to see what Las Vegas could've looked like if I'd been around to design it way back when. It was also a way to figure out how much such a design would cost--and how to build it in such a way that it would pay for itself (the key is to build it a "row" of tiles at a time, starting at the "head" of the crab).

And while you're at it, enjoy the following video about how to build a village.
